You can access Maps+ services in a simple three step process.

Note: Access to Maps+ services is subject to holding a national licence to the underlying data (requirements vary by service). If you are unsure if your organisation is licensed for the required data, or your licence provision changes, please inform your Account Manager immediately.

Step 1 – Contact Your Customer Success Manager

Before requesting access to the services, you should first contact your Customer Success Manager to discuss purchasing access or agreeing a trial period.

Step 2 – Request the Data in Marketplace

Go to the Esri Marketplace and search for the Maps+ service you are interested in, you can find a full list of services here. You will need to be logged into an ArcGIS Online account that has Marketplace access enabled. Speak with your organisation’s administrator if your are unsure.

Hint: If you search for “EsriUK” in the Esri Marketplace you can quickly find all of the products offered by Esri UK.

Next review the listing and then click “Purchase request”. Enter your details and then click “Submit”. Please repeat this for each item you want access to. Although a little time-consuming, it is a one-time process so if you anticipate needing a dataset at any point in the future, it makes sense to request it now.

We will then review your request. If you have already discussed and confirmed the purchase with your Customer Success Manager we will grant access. If not, we will forward the request to them so that they can discuss it with you.

Once you have been granted access, you will receive an email and the item will show under the Apps & Data section of your Marketplace Console.

Step 3 – Share with Your Organisation

If you haven’t already, you need to create a group within your organisation to share the Maps+ content. Instructions on how to do this can be found here. Invite any users in your ArcGIS Online organisation who need access to the data to the group.

Depending on whether the service you are sharing is bundled or non-bundled, you will need to follow slightly different instructions, see below.

Non-Bundled Services

The majority of Maps+ services contain just one item, these are “non-bundled” services and are listed below:

  • GB Premium Basemap
  • GB Premium Basemap Classic
  • OS Premium Rasters Basemap
  • OS MasterMap Basemap
  • OS VectorMap Local Basemap
  • OS 1:25,000 Raster Basemap
  • OS 1:50,000 Raster Basemap
  • OS VML Colour Raster Basemap
  • Pavement Widths
  • OS MasterMap Buildings
  • OS MasterMap Water Network
  • TitleInfo

To share these service with you organisation, go to the Marketplace Console, find the Maps+ service and select “Manage Sharing”. Then select the group into which you wish to share your item. Repeat this for each item you have requested.

To share this service select “Manage Sharing” from the right hand side of the item. Then select the group into which you wish to share your item.

Bundled Services

Some Maps+ services are bundled, this means that each service contains multiple items. This makes the process of sharing the content faster and means that when new items are added to the bundle they are automatically shared with your organisation. These services include:

  • 3D Basemap and Data
  • Maps+ Beta Services

To share a bundled service once again select “Manage Sharing”. This will open a menu asking which group you want to share the service with, select the group you created earlier.

This will share all of the items in the bundle with your group. After you have done this, the main item from the bundled service will be opened in ArcGIS Online. To access the other items contained in the bundle you can select “Bundled Items” which will provide you with a list of the other items included.

To share this service select “Manage Sharing” from the right hand side of the item. Then select the group into which you wish to share your item. To view the other items select “Bundled Items”.

To easily view the items contained within each bundled service please see the following groups, we recommend bookmarking them. You can find them in your organisation’s ArcGIS Online account by going to Groups then My Groups and searching for the bundle name. Alternatively you can use the following links although you’ll need to open them with your organisation’s URL in order to view the content.
